CHICKEN BUTCHERING DAY!!!!

Just a WARNING SOME GRAPHIC pictures.

The day has come to butcher our 1st batch of a 100 meat chickens for this year. It's never an easy day but we all have to eat. We raise them well with only one bad day.

We moved 2 tractors by the butcher station.

We combined 4 tractors into two.

Getting the butcher station set up and ready.

Gut table is set up.

I ordered us some aprons to wear.
We got them in just in time.

After a quick prayer we are getting started.

We are butchering 1 turkey too. That would be why the bigger kill cone is up.

Tim is working the kill cones and the scalding area.
I'm working the chicken plucker.

Skylar and Kaitlin are working the gut table.
I will tell you that they are good and fast at this.

Brieanna came out to help load a few in the kill cones.
She his making all meals for us. Feeding us well!!

Our friend Aaron showed up to help knock out some with us.
It has been such a blessing to have him help us every year.

Tim is dipping 2 at a time.

The chicken plucker hard at work with 2 at a time.

Containers are filling up.

We are done with all the chickens.
Check out all the feathers.

Seeing if the chicken plucker will work on the turkey.
It took the main part off. It definitely doesn't work on our Thanksgiving turkeys.

We ended up butchering a rooster that was attacking us the day before.
Freezer camp for you.

We got 4 coolers full of butchered chickens, 1 turkey and 1 rooster.
Not too bad for a days worth of work.

Now for the bagging process.

We are bagging all of them whole on this batch.

We work with about 10-15 at a time. We put them in the bags.

Tim dunks them hot water to shrink the bags.

Tim sucks the rest of the air out and seals it shut.

It gets a label on it and weighed.
Pounds and price goes on it.

And BOOM!
That's how Burnt Fork Farm butchers and bags the meat chickens.

Update:
*** Just want to thank everyone for their orders this year. We sold almost this entire batch of meat chickens. Also a big thank you for sharing on our Facebook postings of your chickens you prepared.
All looked delicious!!
