Smoothies!

Hi Everyone! Today I'm going to show you our smoothie recipe.
You will need: Yogurt, 2 Apples, Strawberries, Blueberries,
Kale, Milled Flax Seed and Chia Seeds.

 This is everything you need.

I use this much yogurt about 4-5 scoops because
its the only liquid or you can use milk or juice.

Next you need to wash and cut up two apples
I used granny smith apples, but if you use large
apples only put in one.

 Then you add in a handful of Blueberries.
(they can be fresh or frozen)

Now comes the strawberries about two handfuls.
(again fresh or frozen)

Then you add 1 1/2 tablespoons of milled
flax seed.

2 tablespoons of chia seeds

A handful of kale

 Blend it all up.

It should come out a pinkish color. Serves 3.
I hope you guys enjoy this recipe and leave me
a comment saying your smoothie recipes.

HAYING IN THE BACK PASTURE!

The grass on the back part of our pasture was getting tall.
We had one of our neighbors come over and hay it for us.

 This is coming into the gate.

We decided not to drive on it until it gets baled.

 It's just enough of a opening to get our truck through.

 We came back the next day to check on the process.

 Skylar went over to count bales.

Now they are neatly stacked up towards to back part of our property.

WEEKEND HAPPENINGS! **GRAPHIC**

It's finally a weekend that Tim isn't working. He has been working for the past 3 weekends. The Sedalia Fair was going on and we all loaded up to go. Our son and his family joined us later.

Heading towards the entrance.

I like the style of these cars.
It reminds me of watching the Andy Griffin Show.

Cattle show was going on at the Colosseum Building.

Kaitlin is checking out how much electricity it takes to make a light bulb go on.

She got them all to light up!
She's done, it takes a lot.

There was more baby piglets than nipples.
While we were there one of the workers had to move mama off one of the baby piglets. The piglet was just squealing and mama was just not getting it. (The piglet was fine)

Skylar with her cupcakes.

Check out these quilts.
They were amazing and full of talent!

(This quilt was hung this way)

Poultry and Rabbit Building
The girls would like to get more rabbits.
I was hoping to see chickens. That had them out last weekend. So we missed it.

We stopped and let our granddaughter color. The girls also colored a picture. You are never too old to enjoy some coloring.

I never knew these signs were this BIG!

Tim and Kaitlin checking out the tractors.

Tim was excited about checking out the Blacksmithing this year.
He was disappointed. Not much there and not much going on.

Horse Barn
She was just pretty!

We had to put our girls in the Slammer!

Petting Zoo

Zebras just are amazing in their color (stripes).

It was a beautiful day to be at the Fair. We enjoyed some snacks and had lunch. Towards the evening time we headed back home.
Evening chores would need to be done. We were all tired and knew what the next day would hold for us.

~~~~  SUNDAY  ~~~~
**WARNING THIS MIGHT BE GRAPHIC**
Today is a BIG butchering day for our meat birds and roosters.
Tim got up early and got everything set up for the processing today.
He put a fence up around us to keep out the other animals.
Let the process begin.
We have 51 meat birds to get done today, plus 14 roosters.
We had some wonderful friends come over and brought 2 of their roosters to get done. They helped us for a couple of hours. That was such a blessing to us. Extra hands was so helpful of getting this task done.
We butchered all of them and we got 4 buckets with the parts in it.
We kept all of the chickens whole but we plan on parting 45 of them to put in the freezer. The other 5 are sold for friends.
We bagged up the 14 roosters and 5 whole meat birds.
We got everything even the parts all in coolers and iced down.
Then Tim and I headed out to pick up another freezer. We don't have room in any of ours. We butchered one our steers several weeks back. We are fully loaded .
We got the freezer loaded up and strapped down. We are heading back home. It's been a long day so far.
By the time we got home it was getting dark.
But what a beautiful view pulling down our drive.
Here is the freezer. Super excited about all the compartments.
Not a easy task but we got it in the basement and plugged in.
Tomorrow we start putting some of the chicken in it.
~~~~  MONDAY  ~~~~

** THIS MIGHT BE GRAPHIC TOO**

We got up early again to begin the parting process of the chickens.

We are parting them to be legs & thighs, breast, tenders and wings.
We plan on keeping all the carcasses and using them for bone broth.

We had another blessing that another set of friends came out and ended up helping us do some parting and bagging.

Getting them all sealed up with our seal a meal.

We filled up all of our coolers. If we do more next year, we will need more coolers.

Today is also the Solar Eclipse!
We were sure if we were gonna be able to see it. It was cloudy and rainy.

Last bag of chicken meat.

The clouds in the sky are breaking up. I think we are gonna be able to see the Eclipse!
Tim and I with our glasses on and just waiting.
Our friends had the count down going.

The next photos are before and after the eclipse happening.
I didn't take any during.

It got so dark that our outside light came on.

Afterwards, we had lunch with our friends before they left.

Since the meat birds are gone, we moved our turkeys over to the other tractors.

Turkey Tractor one has 7.

Turkey tractor two has 8.

We had so much going on this weekend - Thanks for coming along with us while we share our happenings!

 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
