 ADDING COMPOST
I will wait another couple of weeks before I add the next layer.

HARVESTING SOME CHIVES
The girls and I went around and chopped some chives to put in the dehydrator.

The chickens thought they might like it too!
We got them from 3 different spots in the yard,
that's why there is 3 bowls.
 Rinsed
This batch looked different then the rest so I kept
them separate.
Patting them dry.

The girls helped to arrange them in the trays

We set the temp and had it on a timer for 24 hrs.

 24 HOURS LATER........

This made a jar full.
Skylar is happy!

Baby Chicks!

Whoo!! Sunday (4-26-15) We got baby chicks!!

All the tubs in the store..

We got five!

They are all different breeds.  The yellow one is a Buff Orpington, named Buffy,
The whitish one is an Ameracana, named Meredith. The brownish/red one is a Rhode Island Red, named Copper, the black/white one next to Copper, is a Silver Laced Wyandotte, named Lacie. And the other black one is a Barred Plymouth Rock, named Oreo.

Yesterday and today we brought them outside for a short time.
Can't keep them away from the heat lamp for too long.

MPE Conference

Alright, sorry for not blogging for so long! We have been a little busy!
So the once-a-year MPE Conference was this past Thursday, Friday and Saturday- (4/23-25)
I (Skylar) worked in the MPEKids so, on Thursday I had training.

All the volunteers! Most of us are teenagers.

We thought this was so cool, a magnifying glass out of t-shirts!
This years theme was The Mysterious Kingdom.
And our verse was Job 11:7-9
"Can you fathom the mysteries of God? Can you probe the limits of the Almighty? They are higher than the Heavens above, what can you do? They are deeper than the depths below. What can you know? They are longer than the Earth and wider than the seas."

Me, Lauren and Kaitlin after a speaker conference Thursday night.

Friday morning came and we were all pretty excited.

This is at lunch. We break for lunch and then come back for more fun and learning!
