2020 MARCH QUARANTINED!!

Our month of March was busy. We had several things going on.

We got 2 batches of mulch dropped off.
This will come in handy in the garden.

I got some seeds started.

Growing cabbage, cauliflower and broccoli.

Had to replace those red lights. They were really hard on the eyes.
I have them set up on a timer. This way I don't forget to turn them on or off. I think this is the best way to do it. Who doesn't like timers!

We had this years first batch of baby bunnies born.
Check out this chunky one.

Lady Grey had some really pretty babies.
So soft!

I really like the color of this one.

ST. PATRICK'S DAY  ***   ST. PATRICK'S DAY
Since we are under a quarantine order and nothing is really open but takeout, I fixed a fancy dinner for us. Skylar was at work.

This left Tim, Kaitlin and I to enjoy a wonderful dinner.

Lasagna, garlic bread and salad.
YUM!

Don't forget the dessert.

We enjoyed this delicious Peppermint Patty Brownies with Mint Ice Cream.

Willow

Scout

I am enjoying my breakfast of hash-browns and eggs.

We had several days of rain. Or should I say more like a weeks worth of rain in several days. Our pond was flowing pretty good.
I like hearing the sound of water moving rapidly.

Friday night is pizza night for us. We typically pickup our pizza in town. With everything going on we just decided to make our own pizzas.

Pizza and movie night.

Chickens out free ranging.

For being March we are still having very cold days. We are still running our outdoor wood boiler.

We are working on our cold crops in the garden.
Good thing we ordered our seeds back in January. Who would of known that this whole Covid 19 thing would shut everything down and have empty shelves at the store. Seeds are getting harder to find.

We have enjoyed our Sunday morning breakfasts.
Our time to come together and talk about our week and discuss the farm. This is one of my favorite times with the family besides Friday night pizza and movie.

We moved our blueberries. Checking that off of our list.
Can't wait until they start producing.

Got the peas planted.

Planted some cauliflower.

Our hens have finally started to give us some eggs. Good thing with the shortage of eggs in the store. Hip Hip Hurrah! Go chickens. Keep laying those delicious free ranged eggs. I'm their biggest cheerleader!!

You throw one thing down and they think they all can get to it first.
Actually there is a tray of food under all those feathers.

I planted more seeds.
We decided to go a little bigger this year with the whole crazy stuff going on.

Kaitlin and I enjoying our egg-toasters.

It is starting to look like spring just might come but still having cold weather.

Me

Hanging out with Scout.

Getting garden ready for some more planting but, having problems with the chickens getting in the garden. Notice all the mulch over everything. Darn chickens!!!
The girls put chicken wire up all around the garden. So let's pray this works. It should also help with the wild rabbits from eating our strawberries too.

Baby bunnies are getting big!!

So fluffy soft!

Lady Grey had one black baby. So fluffy!

And then this little cutie that looks like a chinchilla.

Tree trimming guys have been dropping off wood to us.
All Tim will need to do is split it.

Taking a walk with Willow.
Still cold out!

Indoor greenhouses are working well.

Homemade bread with cinnamon and coffee.

Growing some celery.

Tim clearing out some smaller trees.

Tim and one of his chainsaws.
He really likes working out here on the farm.

We had some baby kittens born.
So tiny and cute!

Panther had 5 babies. Hard to believe since she is still so young. I just got her the end of summer last year. She does let us pet her and her cute babies.

They all look good.

Tim had a pile of small trees from the day before piled up and he ran them through his wood chipper.

Tim worked on all the small piles and got it all cleaned up.
Way to go! He is the hardest working person I know. He hardly every rests and always is working on something.

Kaitlin and I redoing this rabbit hutch. The wire was on the outside of the wood. So we moved the wire to be on the inside of the wood. It took us a while to get the cork-screw wire out of all those holes. We flipped it on it's side. Now we are gonna put doors on it.
But that will wait until Tim can help us on that.

We got ourselves a little fire going and gonna have some s'mores and popcorn!

It's been awhile since we have cooked popcorn on the fire like this.
I sure have missed it.

We got another 2 more piles of mulch dropped off.

Raven's babies are getting big and been hopping out of the nesting box.

Willow and Scout

Baby kittens are sure cute. I know we can't keep them all.

Breakfast quesadilla that Kaitlin made.
I enjoyed this with a cup of coffee outside soaking up the nice weather we are finally having.
I know our month of March was almost business as normal for me here on the farm. Tim and Skylar both stayed working like normal. Except for Skylar increased her hours. She was having to do online college classes. I will say that was a bit tough for her. The one that it has been affecting the most was Kaitlin. She is a senior this year. All libraries are closed. Her books she needed for school were there. All her extra activities have been cancelled. No friend interactions. Prom is cancelled. Her job was closed due to the corona virus. At this point I',m not sure how long all this is gonna hang around.
But, for now we have a new normal. We will keep praying!
