MORE NEW BABIES ON THE FARM!!!

Sometimes you never know what your gonna get.

This rabbit gave us a surprise....

10 babies!!!
We now call her "Surprise Mama"!!
They are all doing well. We just had no idea she was with a boy rabbit. They are so hard to sex when they are little.

Our broody hen Ms. Boss hatched out 12 guineas.

Check out this Mama Turkey.
She finally came up from her nest she has been sitting on.

We have 6 new turkey poults.

You can see the dad is checking in on them.
They are all doing well.

WE GOT A BULL!!!

Another Road Trip!!!!!!

We have been waiting for this day since last year. We have planned and made the arrangements to pick up a bull. So now we are off to drive 2 1/2 hours to pick him up.

Tim and I enjoying the drive.

Meanwhile, Kaitlin is catching up on some sleep she has been needing.

We got the trailer behind us.

Nice weather and traffic is good.

We have arrived onto Greg Judy's property. We all went to check out the cattle.

Greg Judy is a Youtuber that we follow. If you're interested in checking out his channel it can be found here

His cattle was hanging out under some shade.

I was impressed that I was surrounded by about 300+ cattle. I wasn't be crowded, pushed or run over. None of them were being aggressive. All the cattle was calm.

In all of that is our bull. We already picked him out.
They went in calmly to separate him and walk a few back to the corral.

And seriously it was just that easy.
We really like seeing that. Most farms we go to run them hard and have difficulty sorting them.

When we arrived we already had our truck ready to go.

Maybe I should of filmed this part.
It was so easy to load him.

Isn't he just gorgeous!?!?!

Tim and I really liked his coloring.

I am throwing this picture in as we already have the wood bought to make this very thing. What is it you ask?
It is a mineral feeder. Double sided (the other side lifts up too). Super excited to get this made for the cattle. We already have the minerals to go in it.

By this time we have worked up an appetite so we pulled over and got our already made lunch from the cooler.

Kaitlin climbed in back. But then we found some picnic tables and finished our lunch there.

Tim and I feeling blessed!

He needs a name besides the bull.

We just got home and pulled into our pasture.
You can see the girls under the tree.

Tim opened the trailer gate and here he comes.

He was barely out ...

and the girls came a runnin' to check him out.

Tiny was even in on the action.
The bull let them sniff away while he grazed on the grass.

A few minutes later they are all under the shade tree.
That was the smoothest loading and unloading we have done.

Tim and I are so excited to grow our herd and produce our own beef. It will take some time but we are getting there one step at a time.

A BEAUTIFUL SUNFLOWER FIELD!!!

There is a place not too far from us that grows a huge field of sunflowers. It's privately owned and he opens it up to the public once the sunflowers have bloomed. He (his name is Russell)  updates us on when he plants them, once they get a foot tall, close to blooming and then when he opens it up for the public. It's only for a couple to several weeks usually the beginning of August.

So we finally got to go this year. I have been following him for over a year now. When we pulled up to this place it was just beautiful!!
Russell would video the place and kept you updated on what's going on and what to expect coming out.

We were so glad we came and walked around. So we hope you just enjoy all the pictures.......

Thanks for coming along to the Sunflower Patch!!
