CHRISTMAS DECORATING!!

What a beautiful day to stay inside and get some decorating done.

After setting all of our Christmas decoration totes out of the loft. We planned out that we would put up all the decor stuff first.

Then we will put up the small tree in the living room.
I really like the clear lights on this tree.

We will still need to go buy the big tree we put in the great room.

So Sunday morning we all loaded up to head to town.
Trailer in tow.

We normally go to the tree farm and get our Christmas tree.
This year I decided to just go to our local hardware store and buy one from their lot.

Christmas trees are expensive!

We went inside and made our purchase.
It was about half the price that we normally pay.

Luckily they had some twine to tie it down with. I usually have straps in my truck. But recently took them all out.

We were trying to get all of us in the picture with the tree.
Perhaps a different angle would of worked better.

Got the tree home.

Tim and I got it set up and watered.

Now to let it relax.
This tree is a Douglas Fir and it smells so good.

The girls are home and let the tree decorating begin!

Kaitlin the tree skirt goes under the tree.
 It's really not a cape.

Tim helping Kaitlin while she puts the star on the top of the tree.

He used to lift the girls up there. They have gotten so big now. They just use the ladder.

I really like white lights, but the family all likes the colored ones.
So they are colored again this year.

The tree is done. Check out the lights on the walls.

I am so blessed to have all these people in my life.
I am glad we could spend the time together as our life keeps getting busier. Thanks family!

WE HAVE THAWED OUT!

It's still cold but the rain helped to thaw out the snow and ice. Here are some pictures around the homestead.

This just had a path and it was icy.

The pond is thawing out.

Everything is flowing now.

The fruit trees we planted a week ago.
It snowed the next day and the snow has melted so I was able to get a picture. And it's been cold and the road was icy. Multiple reasons going on here.

Still have some snow patches.

Alex our favorite kitty.

Homemade turkey potpie.
This is delicious!!!

Yes that is a pile of trash. Tons of it still on the property. Lots was buried and coming up to the surface. Still have some in the back pasture.

Tons of runoff.

The creek is full and flowing.

We will enjoy what we have as more snow is coming.
At this rate we may just have a white Christmas this year.
