WEEKEND HAPPENINGS!

Getting the day started after checking everything out after the storm. Tim and Skylar worked on the Hen House. Using up what boards he had left and used the level laser.

Kaitlin and I are gonna get much needed canning done.
She picked this from the garden. Batches are getting smaller. It's still a blessing to go see what is ready. Big or small batches we still find something to do with them.

We are gonna try something different. We are gonna dehydrate tomato sauce/paste.
Got the tomatoes decored and washed.

Green peppers, onions, and garlic ready.

Now we are gonna blend it all together.

I wanted to make sure it all tasted the same. I had to make in batches. I added a little salt and stirred well.

I got it poured in the trays.

Now we wait 6-12 hours for it to be done. This tasted really good and smelled wonderful in the house.

Now on to our next batch of tomatoes.
Salsa!

Got them cored, skins off. My lovely assistant Kaitlin is cutting them into smaller pieces.

Got this new chopper and I am really liking this thing. It chopped a a onion, jalapenos  and peppers.

It is ready for the jars!

It made 3 pints and 1/2 jelly jar.

We were out taking care of the animals when we saw this.
Its always a reminder. With all the rain he pours out, we get this beautiful rainbow.

And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: I have set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
Genesis 9:12-13

We were all out putting hens, chicks, roosters, guineas and turkeys away in their coops.

We headed to town for a special treat. The sky caught our attention.

Made some treats to take to the Movies in the Park.

~SUNDAY

Tim got up early and went to town.
Came back home with a trailer load of more wood.

Tim and the girls unloaded what they needed by the garage and the rest will be in the barn.

This drawing is the outline for the tresses (roof for hen house).
Kaitlin was Tim's helper for the day.

The egg count is going up. Collected 17 eggs!

The multi-purpose tomato paste/sauce is done in the dehydrator.
Smells good and taste good.

Skylar was my lovely assistant helping me get things done inside.

 Got it blended up!

Put it in a quart size mason jar. It was about 3/4 way full.

We had the Taylors over for dinner and Mr. B.
Mr. Taylor helped Tim with making the tresses. They got them all put together and in the barn. We will need to get them up on another day.

In the meantime, all the kids were making wonderful drawings and just having fun!

After we had dinner, we took care of the animals.
Then, Tristen, Skylar and Tim got a fire started so we can have
S'MORES!

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
