GEM AND MINERAL SHOW!

Kaitlin and I went to the Gem and Mineral Show this past Friday.
She is taking geology for 4-H again this year. She is super excited that we get to go to the show again this year.

This is where they had it last year too.

I was lucky to get this picture. I had permission to take this one picture. Most of the vendors don't allow photos to be taken.

Kaitlin is gonna have these geodes cracked open.
This is really cool they do this.

Kaitlin really likes dinosaurs.

We chatted with this lady. She told us that she demostrates how to take a rock and cut it to be put in a ring. It was cool and interesting to see. She said it would take about 4 hours. Never knew that it would take that long to do.

We got some really cool stuff such as:
petrified coal wood
agates (we got a few)
orange calcite
red calcite
2 geodes
howelite
moonstone
leopard jasper
obsidian
as well as a grab bag which is a fist sized bag full
of many different rocks.
