WEEKEND HAPPENINGS!

WE LEFT THE FARM!

Just for the weekend!

We went to Illinois to visit the Grandparents for the weekend. With traveling you always need somewhere to stay. Tim booked our room and I just want to share with you what he found for us.

Our room!
The first impression was it smelled clean with bleach. Not big on that but other people stayed in this room. I am somewhat a
germ-a-phobe! There is a check list to see how clean is your hotel room is.
We started with the bed mattress. It passed.

This is my first time ever to see a note like this.
I was ready to start ripping the bedding off. All the pieces smelled clean not just sprayed clean. Carpet passes, no stains, and looked new. Phone and remotes are clean. Others stuff throughout the room passed. I am impressed so far with the cleaning crew.

This  was on the wall. Very fitting for us since we left our farm and are staying smack dab in the city. Everything was almost within walking distance.

Bathroom passes the how clean is your hotel room test.

The hallway was very clean.

Since we don't get a chance to get away much, Tim made sure this place had a pool for the girls.

Of course it comes with a hot tub!

After checking in at the hotel and the check list. We headed out to visit with the Grandparents and his cousin was meeting us there.

Mississippi River

The place his Grandparents are at.

We visited for a little while. Then we left and had dinner before heading back to the hotel.

Yep, they enjoyed swimming!

~~On Saturday, we went back to visit with his Grandparents, and then throw in a Aunt and Uncle with Tim's cousin. We enjoyed some lunch with them and got in some much needed visiting. Towards dinner time we left to have dinner with his cousin, aunt and uncle. We really enjoyed spending the time with family. We don't get to see them often as we would like and the time goes by fast.

~~ On Sunday, our plan was to leave in the morning. But we changed our minds. We wanted a little more time with the Grandparents before heading back home. Took some pictures of the girls painting their Great Grandma's finger nails. It was getting close to lunch time before we were heading for home.

The Centennial Bridge!
It was foggy Friday and Saturday night. Finally on Sunday the sun was peeking out.

On our way home we saw a store and wanted to checked it out. So glad we did. I have been looking for horehound candy. Every place in the city that carried it was out. Was gonna have to order it online but, found it at this store in Iowa. My plans are to make some cough syrup. While we were there I picked up some other flavors. The girls didn't help any.

So glad we could go visit, but glad to be home again.

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

**Out of respect to our family, I didn't post any photos of them.
