CHANGING THINGS UP!

Getting back to taking care of things. A couple of days off and its getting back into the rhythm.

For starters:
This is our front door trim. No this isn't good. Apparently, Hope chewed on this while we were out of town. Didn't she know that we  that were gonna find out what she did? Maybe that's why she chewed on it where she did. So, first thing is, finding out how she is getting out of the back pasture. We went down to the woods and got that fixed.

Next,

Getting this second stall ready to move the banties over. But, we need some things first.

I'm so excited, I cut this roosting bar myself!

Food and water

Nesting box and add those Banty's

Now Sassy-Pants has extra roommates.

Next was catching the ameraucanas. I have one rooster and three hens. One (we call Smokey) has just started laying. That one has been with another ameraucana rooster. The other two (we call Cleo & Goldie) haven't layed since the pickup truck was removed the end of last summer from the barn. Stop holding grudges!
I did add one Black Copper Maran (haven't named her yet) into the mix. I will just say the only one that may be happy about this change is MyBuddy the rooster. The hens weren't so pleased. They are usually with Blackie our black jersey giant rooster. I plan on collecting and hatching out some eggs.

*** Do you have any suggestions on a name for the Black Copper Maran??

Looks like that box might give us some problems.

I sure missed the evening skies here.

After morning chores and giving all the animals some milk.
Who doesn't like milk?

Looks like Sassy-Pants wants some too. Hold tight, Skylar went to find a container to put yours in.

Need to fix this...... The hens and rooster on the other side can put their whole head in, and has been pecking on one of the hens on this side. We will fix this for sure.

We are using a trellis I had up in the barn. Temporary fix for now. Added some empty feed bags between it to give more privacy.

Now that is better. You have your area and they have theirs.

We are missing a rooster in here.

That's because Kaitlin moved Crooked-Beak Rooster over to the old baby chicken tractor. He is much smaller than the other roosters and they won't let him eat.

He is happier in here and he was just devouring the food and water. Poor guy! Kaitlin just has a thing for animals.
No his mouth isn't open that is how crooked it is. He can eat and drink just much slower. The other roosters wouldn't let him have the extra time it took.

See the hen on the left? She just layed a egg and left the white box you see in front.

Squirt jumped in after the hen jumped out. You would of thought something was killing the hen.
