WEEKEND HAPPENINGS!

GOOD MORNING!

Heading to the scrap yard. Got a load of metal on the trailer and need it gone.

This was the girls first time seeing the magnet being used. It is cool and gets it unloaded faster. The truck raised up a little too.

AUCTION DAY!

This is only a small proportion of trucks with trailers at the auction.

This is a busy, fast pace place. Gotta know what your doing for sure.

Some big horns, or so I thought.

There is our 4 steers. They look a little stressed.

This was the biggest set of horns at the auction. He had to be in a pin all his own. He barely fit through the door ways.

The girls with Mr. B

This little guy was so cute. It was the smallest one being auctioned off by himself.

Here is the other 6 steers. They aren't as stressed.

When the 6 came out to be auctioned off, the auctioneer said they looked well taken care of. The girls fist bumped on that.

Here comes the 4 of our steers.

It was a good day. We learned a lot at the auction. We got all sold that we took to auction. We still have 3 steers left. They might go soon too.

Saturday nights sky!
This was at the store before going home. It was a long day but rewarding in the end.

~SUNDAY~

This is gonna be a big, long day.
Why?

It's butchering day. Last week we butchered 9 meatie chickens. Now we have 42. Its the big day, and a learning process. We aren't just butchering them and putting them whole into the freezer. We are butchering them into smaller sections. We all watched videos
~ loving YouTube! It showed us how to cut wings, breast, leg-thighs. We did this eating breakfast and drinking coffee.

The girls are busy getting the meaties out of the chicken tractor and putting them in the back of the pickup truck.

We got everything set up and a bigger tank. Not sure how long the whole process will take. We are thinking all day.

Getting closer.

We are done with the butchering. Now, we still need to cut up 20 of them. Also, we still have the heads, feet, liver, hearts and gizzards to bag.

Here's the lesson being lived out. We are cutting up a whole chicken into parts.

Bought some bags for the whole chicken and thought we would used them for the cut up chicken.

It didn't work so well. So we loaded up the cut up chickens and used the seal-a-meal instead. (Skylar came in long enough to empty a few bags and take them back out to use.)

While Kaitlin and I were inside....
Tim and Skylar were busy bagging up the chicken. Our freezers are all full. We were cramming chicken everywhere. Our thoughts are we need another freezer. We bagged up all the other parts and labeled them. We worked until about 8pm last night. It was a long day. Everyone worked with no complaints and got the job done. Thanks guys!

Skylar and Kaitlin vlogged on Saturday, if you want to watch that the link to their YouTube channel is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWfu30AUhzgNE2I4tfP_llg

For even when we were with you, we would give you this command: If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat.
2 Thessalonians 3:10

A slack hand causes poverty, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.
Proverbs 10:4

***Thanks for coming along on our journey as we grow and learn. We have so much to be thankful for.
