A SPECIAL VISITOR!

Skylar and Kaitlin are getting ready for a  Japanese Tea Ceremony.

Skylar is getting a kimono put on.

Kaitlin is a getting a kimono on.

We have a special Visitor!
Meet Eri Matsuda, she is from Japan. She is here for a short time and then will be returning home to her family. She is married and has 2 children (a son and daughter). She is the only one from her family here in the States. Several years ago her daughter came to the states.

Mrs. L (aka Rhonda), Skylar and Kaitlin

Traditional we would be sitting on our knees on the floor.
Thankfully Eri let us sit at the table.

The Japanese tea ceremony, also called the Way of Tea, is a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha (抹茶), powdered green teatogether with traditional Japanese sweets to balance with the bitter taste of the tea.

Skylar trying it.

Next was Kaitlin.
I also got to join them. The tea wasn't bad and the sweets definitely helps the bitter taste.

It reads something about spirit, open heart, respect, purify your surroundings, and have a spirit of quietness.

We were so honored to have her come to our home and share with us her culture and have a tea ceremony with us.
