CHICKENS, GUINEAS, DUCKS AND TURKEYS!!

Let's talk about the animals. Everything is doing great. Our meat chickens are done for the year. With it being so hot I am really glad that part is done. We have produced a lot of rabbit this year. We still aren't done with butchering all of them. We have two more batches to go.

We got our pasture hayed.

Our broody Mama Turkey had her babies.
And they are growing.

Just a lazy, sleep in, kind of day for Squirt.

All 8 of our chicken tractors are being put to use.

The Thanksgiving Turkeys are loving being outside.

We have the Mama Turkey with her babies next door.
The Thanksgiving turkeys are liking the neighbors.
They all talk to each other all day long.

Thanksgiving turkeys are growing.

Look at them at 5 weeks old.

Decided to sell half of my laying hen flock.

Had a broody hen (Sassy-Pants) hatch out guineas.

They waste no time in getting bigger.
I ended up putting them in with a Mama Silkie who has 4 other babies. The guineas do better being raised with the chickens.

The mama silkie the guineas are with now.

I am increasing on my silkie flock.

A broody cochin mama hatched out 2 babies.

My duck numbers are coming down. We had 13 and now we are at 8. I really pray next year might be a better year for them.
Darn fox keeps coming.

Started feeding the chickens differently.
We have them moving daily to follow after the cattle. Things are looking good watching them do this. The guineas really like it.

Ms. Boss

is hatching out some babies for us.

She takes really good care of them.

Another really great broody mama is Little Red Hen.

She just hatched out 8 baby guineas.

We haven't had much animal loss this year. I call that a success so far. All the animals seem to be doing their part. The cattle are helping and so are Scout and Willow.
