TREE WORK FOR THE WEEKEND!

This tree needs to come down.
Half of it is leaning towards the garage.
If it comes down during high winds it will do some damage to the garage and gate.

It is split in half!

Tim wrapped a chain around the part that is leaning towards the garage.

And hooked it to the pickup truck.
Skylar is in the driver seat. Her instructions are to keep the chain tight and when the tree comes toward her to floor it forward.

Check out the two videos taking down the tree.
Taking down the 1st half of the leaning tree.

The tree is safely down. We are in no hurry to get the wood chopped on this. We have another tree that is down that needs tending to.

As you can see in the upper portion a huge branch fell.
It took out about fifteen- twenty feet of barred wire.

First thing is to get the tree cut up and
to get it off the fence.

We had to replace three T-posts, they
were squished under the tree branches.

Tim sawing the base of the tree branch.

Tim is teaching Kaitlin how to run a chainsaw.
She had to wear chainsaw chaps for safety.

Kaitlin got to use the small chainsaw.

Dad and I got it all chopped up and hauled to the wood splitter, that will be a project for another day. I learned how to run a chainsaw, sharpen/file the chain as well as add oil and gas.
