A FOGGY MORNING!!

Good Morning!!

We woke up to lots of fog this morning.

You can barely see the chicken tractors.
You can't even see the truck to the right of the picture.

Kaitlin took this cool picture of a spider web. It still has the morning dew on it.

Usually the fog lifts in the morning. But not today. I had to drive into the city and could barely see 2-3 cars ahead of me. I just got off the interstate. This isn't a hill. The fog was even thicker.

Met with my girlfriend for some breakfast and to catch up.
Glad we both were able to make it with the fog.
Thankful for our friendship.

And got to enjoy these two beautiful daughters of mine when I got home. So blessed!!!!

MOVING COWS TO BACK PASTURE!

Our time with the cows will soon be coming to a end. They will leave and our heifers will be coming home soon. It's been awhile since we have seen them. Lots still to do and prepare for them coming home. But, first we are needing to get some electrical fencing up in the back pasture.

At some point we will be putting up some permanent fencing. But for now we are just putting up poles and running wire.

We need to block this area off as I have our wild blackberries and elderberries growing. They will munch them down to nothing. When any cow has got out they are trampling down the blackberries.

What a wonderful evening after chores.

Tim and Skylar ran fencing to walk the cows to the back pasture.
Kaitlin and I got lucky to not be home.

Fencing is a little hard to see. They come from the front pasture and down through the middle pasture to the back pasture.
A was a little ways for them to go. Tim told me when I got home after dark everything went good.

I had to go and check them out the next day. I am so used to seeing them everyday. It was different not being mooed at in the morning.

As soon as Kaitlin andI walked to the back pasture they came straight up to us. And of course they were mooing at us.

They look happy and healthy.

Plenty of grass for them to munch on.

They liked us being with them.

Check out the video I took of them.

Over the weekend we got a ton of rain.
Tim and I went to the back pasture to check on the cows.

We were needing to check the electric fencing with all the rain and it being by the creek. Glad we came to check on it. We got it fixed.

We didn't see the cows but the creek waters are up.

We walked around to see if we could see them without crossing the creek. They are deep in the wooded area. And of course Willow goes with us.

We noticed there is some more trees down. We will be needing to get it cleaned up and cut up for firewood soon.

FIXIN' DRAINAGE AT THE HEN HOUSE!!

Do you ever have one of those mornings that you have a list and plan to get some things done. Well, this isn't what Tim had planned for the day. We got several inches of rain. The lean to on the Hen house has been getting flooded when it rains. Last winter with the snow and it melting and leaving pools of water and re-icing up, we know we need to fix this problem.

It hasn't been a bad summer with rain. So this area was kinda put towards the bottom of the list. But today it is flooded and pooled up with water that is seeping into the Hen House.
While I was cleaning the inside of the Hen house, Tim dug up the trench he did last summer and pulled out the drainage tube.

He plans to reuse it again.

Tim put in this tubing and 3 green grates. Filled it back in and water has just been flowing through the tubes.

You can see the water just running down to drain out.
WOW!

I finally put the sign up on the correct building.

Check it out after several hours later, it is draining out.

I think we might end up putting gravel inside the lean to.

4H TRASH PICKUP & ANIMALS FOR THE WEEK!!

Tim and Krystal
We are at our 4H trash pickup. We do this about 3x's a year.
It still just surprises me how much trash people just throw out.
It's our community and you would think people will take some pride with it.

Anyways, we are out helping to take care of our community.

We are so happy to be part of this 4H group.
They are a great group of kids. Today we are only picking up half of the Highway. The other half was done a couple of days before with the other group.

 Cosmo
I made some homemade fly spray for this guy. His face was covered flies just a few minutes before this picture was taken. I would say the spray is working.

Look how lush that grass is. Rotating cows has really been working well.

 Tesla

 Still moving chicken tractors.

 Squirt

Kaitlin hanging out with Cosmo.

 Panther
She is starting to come out more and not running and hiding when she sees us. I have noticed she is going farther outside of the barn.
She however doesn't like Phantom. Panther growls at her if Phantom comes close to her.

 Telsa is the adventurous one.

I want to be like a sunflower
so that even on the darkest day
I will stand tall
and find the light

Red tent is the finish line.
On the right side with a crowd of people - The is one group going up the hill to get to the first obstacle course. I would say the hill is a obstacle course itself. They send out groups every 15 minutes.
There is 25 obstacles and is 3.1 miles long.

Finish area
I can't wait to see them here!

There goes my group to the starting area.

These are the courses right before the finish line.

I enjoyed watching the people working on climbing/jumping up the Warped Wall. As the hours have gone by, I have watched the grass becoming more muddy. The first hour it was sucessful. As the hours grew and the grass became muddier more were climbing the ladder.

Finally, I see someone from the group!!!!!
It's been about 2 1/2 hours and these two finally came through.
They were so tired and wore out from the obstacles. I wanted so badly to cheer for them going up the Warped Wall. However they didn't go. They took the ladder instead. I don't blame them. They did a great job getting through the courses.
I saw several people injured. Nothing life threatening but some did get hurt. I also saw people with some battle wounds like scratches and ripped clothes. Mostly the pants were ripped. You know they are gonna be bruised and sore the next day.

Yippee........ I see my people!!!!
Tim, Skylar, Kaitlin and Larissa have made it through Feeding the Beast.

Ashley, Larry and Sarah have made it through.

Now they need to jump over the Pyromania

beginning to understand
that the whole idea is not
to beat the other runners.
Eventually you learn that
the competition is against

that wants you to quit."

That is one muddy girl!

They all but Ashley are going try to get up the wall.

I am so proud of everyone of them. They worked together and help one another and others. They encouraged each other and gave each other strength to get through the 25 obstacles together and make it to the finishline.

Way to go!!!!!!

Main stage with a DJ.

Tons of things going on in this area throughout the day.
Even some dancing. Which Tim and I did.

Let's just say I love this man Dirty man!!!

Afterwards we were so hungry we stopped at Red Robins for lunch/dinner. Let's just say it's after 3pm and nobody had lunch.

(The lighting in this place isn't good for pictures!)
