The vineyard garden was needing some attention. So we chose the hottest day to work on this project.
Didn't do this on purpose, it just needed to be done. The plan was to see where we could plant the fall green beans. So this area need some weeds pulled and weed-eating done.
Pulled out grassy weeds to see what is still growing. This is cantaloupe.
Those vine-y looking things are pumpkin. Gonna put some hay around the base of it.
We lost 2 raspberry plants, but still have 2.
Blackberries, Strawberries plants and Blueberry bushes are doing good.
We loaded the bed of the truck with the hay, rakes, weed-eater, wheel barrow, lots of water and helping hands. Coming back for more hay the new steers came out to watch us. I think they are getting use to us girls coming and going by them.
Kaitlin stops to get a hug from Alex. She is so sweet and so is the kitten.
We lost 1 grape vine, but still have 3. We will be planting more next spring.
Raspberry Plants
Pumpkin plant up close with hay at the base.
Pumpkins are looking good too. They have flowers on them. Let's pray we can harvest some.
Getting a spot ready for the green beans.
Breaking up the ground and laying down some mulch. Won't be able to plant green beans today. But, they will be ready for in the morning.
After all this work the girls and I stayed in were it was cool.
