Come along with us on some of our Christmas.
Can you believe it's Christmas morning and Kaitlin is still sleeping! It's about 8ish in the morning. Tim and I went out and did all the morning chores and made a pot of coffee.
And Skylar is still sleeping.
Ok she heard us coming in and quickly got on the floor to trick us.
Starting with the stockings first.......
We all sat down with our coffee to begin our gift giving.
Warm gloves!
That would of come in handy yesterday.
THE DUCK-TAPE PRESENTS.........
Oh you can guess who wrapped these gifts...... DADDY!
And DON"T use a knife or cut it open.
So what did they get?
Warmer coats.
Living out here, it gets cold.
This will go perfect with Kaitlin's doll house she has.
Farm living for sure!
Captain America
Yoda - Star Wars
Tim needed this like two weeks ago.
Who doesn't like money?
Hey, she took my money!
Normally I make this thing called Christmas Morning Breakfast. The vote this year was for mom's favorite omelets.
And don't forget the hashbrowns.
Kaitlin couldn't wait to play with her new stable set.
Lets check out what the animals are doing.......
We only have three ducks left. We kept two females and one male - Survivor. You can read about him here.
We still have fog on Christmas Day.
Yep, that seat is going to come in handy for Tim.
Ingredients that we will need to cook the duck.
I have never cooked a whole duck before. Tim has gone duck hunting. When he brings duck home, he just gets the breast of the meat. I cut it up for stew. So this way of cooking a duck is way different. I had to do some research on how.
First thing is to boil the whole duck for 10 minutes. This helps to release the oil from the skin. I kept reading how greasy duck is.
First step is done!
Now I am bathing it in the seasonings.
Salt, Pepper and Paprika
I also used Garlic, Celery and Oranges in the inside cavity of the duck.
Now on to making some country green beans.
A few more minutes in the oven and this duck is done.
I hope it tastes as good as it smells.
Green beans are done.
Now we are loading up our truck with lots of presents, food and ourselves. We are heading over to Jessica and Leith's house.
That is a lot of gifts. But we have a lot in our family.
We had a wonderful dinner:
Brisket, Duck, Texas Potatoes, Green Beans, Applesauce and Rolls.
Top that off with some yummy Carrot Cake, Cherry Pie, Cookies, and don't forget them Oreo Truffles.
The older grandkids opening up the marshmellow shooters Grandma made. Thats me!
EmilyMae with her new scarf Grandma made.
Liam with his RED scarf Grandma made him.
We topped off our evening with some Pie Face game.
Everyone got some in their face. Thanks Ashley for bringing some laughter with this game.
