50 NEW BABY CHICKS
I got the call early this morning from the post office.
She said, " Your chicks are in."
This is the box. The noisy box. I even heard the workers at the post office talking about how noisy these littles ones are.
Aren't they cute. Before they eat, freshly hatched,
before poop happens.
No need to smell them. They still don't smell good.
Got this ready for them last night. So we are ready for them today.
One by one we dipped their beaks in the water.
Next, next, next.... 50x's!
Looks like a lot but not even half way.
The girls helped hand them over.
The last 2 in the box.
All of them were so thirsty.
This is what 50 meatie chickens look like. In 2 days they won't have much room in this. We bought a brooder box, but still need to pick it up. So will update when we get it this weekend.
The Meaties are room-mates with 19 other chicks.
Above picture is Splash Silkie and Blue Cochin
Golden Comets and Gold Laced Wyandotte
This is what the Meaties are in. Using a heat light today with no fan for the other chicks. The Meaties felt a little cold when I removed them from the box.
Not long before they will be out with the other hens.
These 2 are ready to go out with the hens but gonna wait until weekend maybe.
These 2 are so pretty. Gotta love the feathered feet.
