The wind came early in the morning. Woke me up at 5am.
Then came the rain.
Which turned into snow.
The temperature was cold and the wind just kept blowing.
By afternoon this is what was going on.
I stayed inside from the morning chores.
The girls took care of it.
The ice covered these windows and we couldn't see out of them.
Our own snow globe.
The wind blow so hard that it blew halfway into the barn.
Poor rabbits were getting a good dusting of snow on them.
I put up some cardboard on these two cages.
Tim is helping us put a feed bag against the cages to give some protection to the wind and snow that is still blowing. We had to carry a least a dozen hens and two turkeys into the hen house. They decided they didn't want to walk to the hen house with all the snow.
We also had to put up feed bags in the silkie/banty coop.
The snow was blowing all over them while they were roosting.
Cold and still snowing. The wind is just brutal.
It made it hard to walk with the snow drifts being so deep.
Couldn't get a picture of the ducks but they didn't seem to mind. They were swimming in the pond most of the day.
Not much room in the garage with my truck inside. Tim is working on it and needs another part. So here it sits until he can get back into town and get the part. Everytime we let the dogs out the snow just clung to them.
The next morning everything is a blanket of snow.
The sun is starting to come up.
So far only the turkeys and guineas have come out of the hen house.
Finally one chicken came out. I don't think anymore will venture out with the snow.
As cold as it is, it's still a beautiful crisp morning!
