With the homeschool conference going on it only gave us one day to get some things worked on here on the homestead.
UPDATE ON CHICKS!
UPDATE ON CHICKS!
I been trying to count how many babies actually hatched out from under Sassy-Pants. The count looks like 6 so far.
Another one hatched, now seven.
Moved out a few young/bigger chicks to make room.
It still amazes me that these cats can be with the young birds and be fine.
Squirt and Phantom hang out with me every morning while I am doing the morning chores.
I added these chicks in the second stall.
That duck sure is growing.
Adding some more little chicks to the second stall!
The second stall is filling up with baby chicks.
Still have more to add when they are ready.
Had some more chicks hatch.
New White Legged-Horn chicks I just bought.
Hatching 'em out and buying 'em we have a lot of baby chicks right now. Still have more eggs in the incubator going.
UPDATE ON SWEET POTATOES
Sprouting from the first batch of sweet potato.
And sprouting starting on the second batch of sweet potatoes.
Stopped by a local nursery and bought some plants for the garden.
We got a package.
Wonder what's inside?
Wonder what's inside?
SEEDS, lots of them!
I got them sorted out. Now it's time to get them planted.
Some will get started inside and others will go straight into the ground.
Some will get started inside and others will go straight into the ground.
Batch one done.
Batch two done.
UPDATE ON MEAT BIRDS
UPDATE ON MEAT BIRDS
They have moved outside.
They are loving the bigger space.
GATE OR NO GATE??????
This is where the gate needs to go.
Tim and I stopped to get the supplies we needed for this project.
There is the gate.
Marked the area where the post will go.
While I was planting, Tim got 3 out of 4 post set.
Cross bracing are in.
Time to stretch the fencing.
Tim and Kaitlin are securing the fencing to the post.
Look what Kaitlin and I found on the side of the road.
This cage will some in handy somewhere on the homestead.
Stayed tuned for our trip to Jamesport!
