This
weekend we put on a new roof! Well, just some. We didn't have enough
time to do it ALL but we got the lower level all done. Mom hung out, made food and handed us things
while we where on the roof. Mom also took lots of pictures!
And this week, we have been working on the upper part and we got it all tore off!
Day 1
Here are a couple pictures how the roof looked before....
Here's all our shingles, tar paper, chalk and eave drips
Me climbin' up the ladder...
Saturday (3/28/15) was a cold morning, especially on the roof!
Dad bought some boards knowing he will have to replace some.
Kaitlin and I picked up the pieces and put them in the wheelbarrow
While dad, scraped up the shingles. He had already been up for a while and was grateful for the help!
We (dad) moved the top-kick into the front yard so we could just push the shingles down the roof into the truck, instead of using the wheelbarrow.
Kaitlin didn't really like being on the roof, so she picked up the pieces and handed us things.
Scraping off the other side of the roof
We had to replace some boards, because the others were rotted or really flimsy.
Trucks gettin' full!
Day 2
Sunday came early and warmer than Saturday (though not by much)
Working on putting the new shingles on!
Those are some of the shingles..we carried them up Saturday night (they were very heavy)
Dad wasn't pleased with these couple of rows...... So guess what?
Yep he took all of them back off. Now that set us all back on getting this done.
The boards we took off that were bad.
Mkay, now this looks better and dad is pleased with the look.
Got one side done!!!!
DAY 3
Monday 3-30-15
Dad and I working on the roof.
DAY 4
Kaitlin and I were at a program that mom took us to. While, we were gone dad worked into the dark stripping all the shingles off. When we got home we all helped to clean up the mess.
