Again this year we are going to the
Missouri State Fair!
Skylar had sent 2 items to the State Fair for 4-H.
Missouri State Fair!
Skylar had sent 2 items to the State Fair for 4-H.
It's over a 2 hour drive. We didn't leave too early but we wanted to at least arrive in the morning time before lunch.
We made it. It's gonna be a hot day!
Check out this teeny-tiny Nintendo.
I never knew they made them that small.
The girls are checking out the jeep.
I know we would like to have one. Just for fun!
Who is ready for some cow chip throwing?
First up, Tim!
Rules are you must be inside the flags. They will measure it and mark it down. They will let us know later in the day who the champion cow chip thrower is.
Next up, Kaitlin!
Who is a really good thrower.
Next up, Krystal!
Yep not that good at throwing. But I did stay inside the flag area.
Last up, Skylar!
Let's just say they none of us are the Champion cow chip throwers.
That would of been cool to bring home the trophy they had.
Now on to the FFA Building..........
Tim checking out this Round Hay barn.
4-H Building............
The tree painting is from a girl in our 4-H group.
Skylar's 2 pictures (The sky with clouds and the 2 dogs).
She really likes photography.
Check out all these cakes. There is some talent in these.
Well, in all the projects, but I was impressed with these. The details on some of them. They almost look real. Watch out Cake Boss!
Our county flag for 4-H.
Poultry Building.......
I like the white silkies.
Tim and I
Skylar got a slushy.
Tim and I shared a fully loaded nacho.
Kaitlin had very little as she wasn't hungry.
We saw this trailer and noticed that the Clydesdales horses are there. We haven't seen them for several years.
The pictures doesn't do any justice of their size.
They are massively HUGE!
(Skylar here) I was looking up how tall 18 hands was because almost all of the horses where that height- its 6ft. The one in the picture is 18.5 hands!
It was so hot that our lenses kept fogging up.
Check out this beautiful wooden wagon.
And the beautiful hand carvings on it.
Beautiful work!!
Horse Barn.......
We got to talk with a lady that had her horse all dressed out.
They were in a show. She explained what all they did and why they dressed the horses all fancy. I didn't know they made ear plugs for horses. When they shoot guns it helps the horses. Makes sense.
We all were hot and hungry!
We left the fairgrounds to go grab a bite to eat and then head home.
Our lunch meal was cheap. Tim and I spilt this sandwich and fries.
And the girls too. I think we were just so hot.
Bonus, we got to see the Ghost Busters car!!
