ANNIVERSARY/BIRTHDAY/MORE BABY CHICKS!

Tim and I celebrated our anniversary!
We went out to a really nice restaurant and got to take BIG RED!


We celebrated Kaitlin's birthday!!!!


We celebrated with family and with friends.

 Baby chicks......
Yes, more meat birds.

I wasn't completely ready for them to come a day early.
But, as always we get it all done.

This was a surprise.....

We knew Sassy-Pants was sitting on some eggs but they weren't due to start hatching for another week. Surprised me when I check on her daily and see little ones poking out of her sides.

She was sitting on 6 regular eggs and 2 guinea eggs.

All hatched but the 2 guinea's died.

Charcoal has hatched out 5 little baby chicks too.

 Ms. Boss is hatching out guineas.

 Ms. Boss had 8 and they all hatched.
Guineas are hard to raise so we will see how this goes.

Two weeks later these meat birds are moved out to the chicken tractors to make room for.............

You guessed it 15 turkeys.

They just loved this nipple waterer.

A week later and look how big the meat birds are now.

KITTEN UPDATE:

All kittens have a new home. We kept two and will show them later. We started with 16 baby kittens and we are praying for no more. All four mom's will still nurse the two we kept. So we are just waiting for it to stop so we can get them all fixed.

Cow/Calf Update:

Storm, Coal and Lightning

We have already started selling some of the cows.

We have 3 cows (Coal, Midnight, I-Forget)

and 4 calves (Lightning, Bolt, Storm, Thunder)

Bolt is doing great. Midnight is nursing Storm and Bolt.
