Got up early again, this time we needed to. We are renting a car today. It was about a 20-25 minute walk to the rental place. Grabbed some breakfast and coffee. We were there by 6:50 am. They opened at 7 am.
Got our little SUV. The plan is to drive to the other side called the North Shore of the island and site see.
Diamond Head Mountain in the background.
(Koko Head District Park)
The back of Tim's legs are sunburned.
There were spots to turn off and look.
The north side was so windy and the waves were just crashing against the rocks.
(Honolulu)
Makapu'u Beach Park
Look how windy it is.
I should of braided my hair today.
We heard a rooster crowing and look what we saw.
Makes me feel right at home.
(He'eia State Park)
Look at this crazy tree.
(Kahalu'u area)
Driving right next to the ocean.
That is so cool!
Kane'ohe area
Kaaawa
Ahupua'a 'O Kahana State Park
We stopped to get a snack from this Shrimp Shack in Punaluu.
The famous Sunset Point Beach Park
This is a really nice beach area.
We would of went swimming had it not been cold and the water was very cold.
Pupukea area
Hale'iwa
Waimea Waterfall
It took about 30 minutes to get to the falls.
This is a 50 foot waterfall and is 45 feet deep.
At this point is where Tim said,
"It's cold!"
The water hits you hard and is difficult to stand on the slippery rocks.
As we walked back we enjoyed the beautiful botanical garden.
I saw this in the gift shop.
I think it is so true!
This is the John Wilson Tunnel
The John H. Wilson Tunnels are a pair of highway tunnels passing through the Ko‘olau Range on the island of O‘ahu.
After we got done on the North Side we returned our rental car.
Got cleaned up and headed out to grab some dinner.
A nice fruity drink.
The pineapples here taste better by far!
